Below are some simple examples of the lane width issues. These pictures show before the bus lane (BBL) and after, demonstrating the 'discretionary space' which used to allow safe access for residents and safe passage for emergency services or simple over taking and undertaking when cars are turning left or right. Most importantly it demonstrates that the space for cyclists has simply disappeared!

Before the Bus Lane
This picture demonstrates the space between the lanes allowing safe traffic flow. Due to the volumes of vehicles using this road and types of vehicles this scheme represted a safe option. The descretionary space gave people safe driving options
